My awareness of disability needs in architecture began 20 years ago when I became a paraplegic due to an injury. I have since expanded my architectural practice to include a focus on Universal Design and the unique needs of those in the disabled community. My firsthand experience with many of the intimate requirements of disabled people gives me a unique insight and sensitivity. In addition to designing for my own clients I also do consulting for disability-focused projects and have acted as an advocate for disability issues and the A.D.A.
